Florida schools now must teach that some Black people benefited from slavery

Irene Moore-Davis, President of the Essex County Black Historical Research Society and co-founder of Black Women of Forward Action joins AM800 CKLW’s Jon Liedtke on The Shift to discuss Florida public schools now teaching that some Black people benefited from slavery because it taught them useful skills, all part of new African American history standards that have been blasted by a teachers’ union as a “step backward.”
