A well-known Windsor business owner has died.
51-year-old Mark Boscariol passed away suddenly on Thursday.
The local business owner and entrepreneur owns a number of restaurants including Good Neighbour, Downtown Pizza Company and Snackbar-B-Q.
He recently struck a deal with Bike Windsor Essex to have the group move into one of his properties on Chatham St. East.
Jon Liedtke operates Higher Limits on Ouellette Ave, a building owned by Boscariol.
“Whatever we were going through as a community, Mark Boscariol was always there as a booster,” says Liedtke.
He says Boscariol loved Windsor.
“Mark Boscariol is single handedly a hero that the City of Windsor did not deserve to have but we had him and Windsor is at a lost today, Windsor will be at a lost moving forward without him,” says Liedtke.
Larry Horwitz remembers Mark Boscariol and his passion for the community he lived in.
The Chair of the DWBIA tells AM800 News, Boscariol was fearless and gave life everything he had.
“It’s funny, I’m on a trip right now to Hawaii that mimics one he went on a month or two ago. He lived life to its fullest and did things I wouldn’t even consider doing,” he says. “It’s devastating because he had so much more to give to Windsor.”
Boscariol was also a past chair of the Downtown Windsor Business Improvement Association.
Funeral arrangments have not been announced.
