At Windsor’s Breakfast for Israel, Noa Argamani, former Hamas hostage & a Time 100 Most Influential People 2025, spoke on her advocacy to rescue the remaining hostages.
Noa’s story about being abducted & held by Hamas for 245 days is heart wrenching, but her being rescued didn’t end the trauma: 20 months following Oct 7, her partner is still in Hamas captivity.
Unfortunately, an event featuring a former Hamas hostage advocating for the release of both living AND DEAD hostages still held captive by a listed terrorist entity by the Government of Canada yields protestors. It’s notable that one of the protestors is a prolific former failed political candidate, Helmi Charif, who is known publicly for prior antisemitic comments.

The executive director of the Windsor Jewish Federation and Community Centre (of which I am a member of the board), Marion Zeller, was quoted in the Windsor Star: “Zeller said protesters were shouting at attendees as they arrived and were holding up signs, accusing them of being “baby killers.””
Those “accusations “baby killers” accusations were levied at me directly as I approached the parking lot – which was flanked by members of the Windsor Police Service.
Worse, as I was on the road approaching the building itself, one of the Pro-Palestinian protestors yelled at me from the sidewalk that the protest for him was not about Israel or Zionism, but instead it was about Jews, saying that Jews are criminals and killers. Antisemitism folks.

Funds were raised for Israel’s Ashdod Rehab Centre for trauma victims, kids w/ disabilities, & pediatric cancer patients.
